This decision was taken on the basis of an accountability process started on the instructions of party chief Altaf Hussain, which led them to conclude that Siddiqui violated the party discipline, the statement said.
The committee issued instructions to the MQM party workers to stop maintaining contact with Siddiqui and has warned members that violations of the instruction would result in disciplinary action.
The decision to terminate KTC in-charge's membership came shortly after MQM announced its decision to dissolve the Karachi Tanzeemi Committee itself, following complaints received about the committee’s inefficiency.
Altaf Hussain's telephonic instructions
In his telephonic conversation with MQM party workers, MQM chief emphasised that if any member is found asking for money from shops and businesses, his membership should be immediately terminated.
The MQM chief added that membership should also be revoked of party workers who have illegally occupied properties and buildings in the city.
Altaf said that MQM is a party that strives for the rights of the people and must have "zero tolerance" for workers who are proven to be involved in corrupt activities.

@Kazmis:
Why what, sir?
@Khan101: But why?
@Tariq H: PTI won 800,000 votes from Karachi while MQM won 25,000,000 votes from Karachi. You do the Maths, that's about 3 times as many as PTI and more than all other Parties in Karachi combined.
@Assad:
Perhaps you missed the part where PTI is the second highest voted for party in Karachi. And that they managed to get 20,000+ votes in Lyari where MQM could only muster ~500. (Not a PTI Fanboy)
@Syed Arbab Ahmed (@SyedArbabAhmed): Lets get real. What PTI Tsunami in Karachi? You win NA-250 because MQM and PPP sit out and suddenly the MQM is shivering in the corner awestruck by the PTI? Please lets get real. This overly optimistic spin by the PTI supporters is not only getting a bit old, but its also always overhyped and generally off target. PTI needs years to make up for the grassroots efforts that MQM has put in to get the support of the Karachites in the past two decades. Not everything MQM does is based on violence and intimidation as many of the MQM's antagonists suggest. If people were scared at gunpoint, they would stay inside their homes and not vote for the MQM, yet they come out and vote in the millions. I say this as an observer of the political landscape in Karachi, not an MQM supporter so I am not toeing the party line as some may suspect me to.
Yes MQM has made some missteps, however every single party, including the PTI has done the same. The real issue is how MQM recovers. I, being a realist, do not see any PTI Tsunami in Karachi whatsoever. MQM will rebalance and will make its presence felt. I hope and pray its done peacefully and on the basis of people power.
@Syed Faheem: "I guess ET was provided with these photos and now obligated to use them…otherwise….."
Who would volunteer to be another Wali Khan Babar, Azim Ahmed Tariq or Dr. Imran Farooque?
Sentimentalists, now listen!
Very few know that Hammad Siddiqui was a highly educated and charismatic person. He only did what he was ordered to do so. If he was wrong, the guys who gave him "commands" were equally, or even more, wrong. He worked very hard for the party day and night. He was not even allowed to go outside of the boundaries of Nine Zero. He had almost no, and had to sacrifice his, family life (altought he was married with children). He would always listen to people's complaints and matters 24/7.
It's a "mighty" shame how badly he was treated and pitifully humiliated.
@PTIMardan: Dont try to twist the facts . They were Mohajirs of East Punjab who left their homes to settle in wes Punjab. They were looted, raped and killed and some of them could not make it to safe havens of Pakistan. Those settled in Karachi came quite after partition when it was safe to move. Those teen agers how form the MQM's vangaurd force, were not even born at that time.
MQM is and will remain as a terrorist organization. Altaf hussain has thousand of people's blood on his hand. He is a criminal, no matter what changes he bring by reorganization of the party, he still has to face the law and punished for his crimes. Why can't he come back to Pakistan and defend himself. Any reasons ?
Ok so when can we see the illegal construction of residence in parks be demolished and the parks can be put back for their actual use??? huh.. Never, all rhetorical statements..
The recent elections have forced all parties to have a rethink about the way they have been operating. All know that perception (whether a result of propaganda or otherwise) is stronger than the reality. This is more true for MQM than other parties. It is a good sign that MQM has started to taking steps to improve its image. But this will be a long journey. There are parties who may not even commence this journey but then they will become a part of the history.
@PTIMardan: I am a Mohajir and I agree with you 100%
@Syed Faheem: "AH"....ha,.ha..ha.. good one.. I totally get it now...FUNNY!
England expects Altaf Hussain to do his duty !!!!!
What is the real position for such drastic changes or what is the guarantee that it will not prove like in French saying " Il va tomber sur la tete".
Seems like Scotland Yard investigations & international media has given MQM a good scare for betterment of their 'Image'.
I am sure we all appreciate the sacrifices of the Mohajirs in the making of Pakistan as well as their contribution in the development of Pakistan.Also i am sure a great majority of the Mohajirs are against of people who are using voilence for their hegemony and political gain.They need to realize that these poeple who claim to be standing for the rights of Mohajirs are exactly the group depriving the people of karachi from their right of a peaceful life and are holding back karachi from its true potential.I have no doubt that if given the right conditions Karachi has the potential of becomeing the next Singapore.
The possibility is that there are lot of changes that is going to take place in MQM in the very near future.
In the recent election held on May 11, 2013, MQM nominated its candidates from all over Pakistan, but MQM could not get the desired results from all over Pakistan to make the government.
I am expecting that Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) is going to reverse back its name i.e. Muhajir Qaumi Movement ((MQM) and Afaq Ahmed alongwith his colleagues may join hands with Mr. Altaf Hussain of Muttahida Quami Mivement to strengthen the joint Muhajir Qaumi Movement.
It may be a big surprise for the readers of these valued columns, but this is what I feel now, keeping in view of the latest developments that are going on in Muttahuda Quami Movement (MQM).
I think everyone knows what the "deciplinary action" means ;-)
All pics of AH are photo shoots. You can easily tell from the poses and same background. I guess ET was provided with these photos and now obligated to use them...otherwise.....
Nothing is going to happen with this arrangement. the entire rabita committee should be dissolved and replaced with new one. All the government officers and officials should be removed from party positions. They are in thousands pir sahab. you have to take decisions if you want to do something real this time.
hahahahaha! what a joke !
Fear of PTI's tsunami has brought change in Karachi at least
I guess this way the MQM economy will fail.!
