According to initial reports, unknown assailants on a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade at the corner meeting in the Takht Bai area of Mardan and fled.
There were at least 30 people present at the meeting.
Police and rescue services reached the site of the incident, and the injured were shifted to a hospital.
On Saturday, a PTI office in Peshawar was targeted with a timed-device. However, there was no casualty in the incident.
Violence has been on the rise ahead of the May 11 general elections, with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) targeting the Awami National Party (ANP), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) terming them 'secular'.
Official reports state that there have been 48 bomb blasts in April across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), including three suicide attacks.
In the lead up to the elections, “sixty-four people have been killed while 263 have been injured,” said the report.

@Max: Unfortunately Imran's speech have incited hate among masses who live below median in Pakistan. Any such FIR may seem to mock the system as paradoxically Imran would be seen behind bars.
For God's sake, does Pakistan has POLICE? Terrorists are roaming freely all over Pakistan without any fear of getting caught.
If there is no blast in PTI gathering then it means Taliban is with PTI, and if there is any blast then it means a backfire. I am sick of some people's flawed logic
KPK is clean sweep for PTI come what may!
Hand grenade could have exploded in a PTI troll's pocket.
The PTI trolls were out in full force the other day when there was a bombing at an MQM office and they kept saying that MQM is bombing its own offices. I know that some of the PTI supporters are not thirdclass people like the the rest of them, therefore, please accept my condolences..
IK: This is what we get when you invoke religion into a peaceful, hopefilled campaign. Steer clear of religious announcements and edicts personally and ignore the haters. Keep your relegion and personal beliefs to your heart and home and between you and your God and advise all to do so as well.

Maulana Fazl fatwa against PTI appears to have taken place with immediate effect. Hope he will not issue anymore fatwahs against his other rivals otherwise only one party will be left in the elections.
Too long did IK mock our sacrifices and the fire comes PTI's way after only few statements from Maulana Fazlur Rahman. We shall not however, let our egos destroy all & Khan sahab is welcome to join PPP, MQM and ANP in a joint resistance to the menace of Taliban.
K-P is usually regarded as the most religious and militarized province. Also it has a big support base of religious parties like JUI-F.
What if ANP/MQM supporters start blaming PTI now for bombing itself like PTI supporters blame them?
Yesterday the 'molana' Fazlur Rehman called PTI kafirs, and since then there have been two attacks against PTI. PTI should file a suit against FR for hate speech and inciting violence.
Come what may, PTI will win INSHLLAH!
Really unfortunate tragedy. On a side note, if being bombed is the sole measure of political credibility, PTI bashers should re-consider their views on PTI.
Blast wont stop me to vote.
