"Pervez Musharraf's remand is extended for judicial lock-up for 14 days, he should be presented before the court on May 18," Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi, ordered.
Police had asked the judge to grant the custodial extension saying the investigation into Musharraf's activities was still under way.
Lawyers for Musharraf, who is locked in his own home, which has been declared a sub-jail while he is awaiting trial, filed a bail application in the court and the judge fixed a hearing for May 6.
The court was also asked if Musharraf's trial could be held inside his plush villa, citing security reasons, but the matter was left pending.
"It has been brought into my notice that the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad issued a notification for the jail trial, but approval from Islamabad high court is needed in this regard," the judge said.
Musharraf was placed in police custody at his home following his arrest on April 19, in an unprecedented move against a former army chief of staff ahead of key elections.
He was arrested for making a decision to sack judges when he imposed emergency rule in November 2007 -- a move that hastened his downfall.
He also faces charges of conspiracy to murder opposition leader Benazir Bhutto in 2007 and over the death of a rebel leader during a 2006 military operation.
The retired general has been humiliated since returning in March from self-imposed exile to contest elections.
However, his party on Friday announced it will boycott next week's historic election after a court on Tuesday banned him from standing for the rest of his life.
The May 11 polls for the national and regional assemblies mark the first time that a civilian government completes a full-term and hands over to another at the ballot box, in a country that has been ruled by the military for half its life.

@Ahmed Ali Khan: why are you getting jealeous for his reception?
Ahmed ji, Not jealous. Amused is more appropriate word :)
V V I P. ........ Trail.....??.????
No one is above law and if Musharraf is is found guilty then he must be punished. to give a massage so no one will ever think to break the constitution for whatever may be the reasons.Army is not a solution to Pakistan present problems. We must vote to honest and sincere persons and this is the only solutions. Dr Quadri was correct about set up of election commision as we see still lots of loan defaulters and tax evaders are allowed by EC to take part in the election.
@Chulbul Pandey:
why are you getting jealeous for his reception? Mr. Musharraf already knew these things he has to face and he is already make a will in case something happen. He told in public about that. I appreciate his bravery that inspite of knowing very well he came back. Any rightful person would like his name be cleared from wrong doing then to enjoy his life outside. He already spent good 69 yrs. and if to spent some time in jail so be it. In Pakistan a leader cant be a leader until he goes to the jail. So he is a leader in the making and he has many more years to contribute.
The former General must receive the utmost security, is the priority for the Government and the military, come what may. However, no power on eartht, neither the yanks or the military can save him from the humiliation for the crimes which he committed in his time. The people of Pakistan have the right to know how their former leader General surrendered sovereignty to a foreign power and what his role was in the murder of Bibi and Bugti as well as in the disappeaance of many innocent citizens. The wrongs which he has committed against Nawaz Sharif and Bhutto Zardari are of personal nature and can only be forgiven by the aggrieved parties.

@A J Khan: What is with all the resentment against him? And who is Nawaz to say that he'd punish Musharraf. What about the crimes of Mr. Nawaz? He's not above the law either, just people he was a politician means his crimes are forgotten?
I am sure he will be out one day, cleared from all kind of allegations, however I would like to see this show to continue for a while so that no body should cross his limits in the future as he did in everything. He is a brave man no doubt but a fool as well and that is what he would have been thinking about himself now a days.
From the conduct and remarks, it appears that court is a party in the case.
A humilating game initiated against Musharraf will not be digested for long. Such actions always have a ditasteful fallout. General Kayani also referred to same in his recent speach and observed that any punishment would not obviate the chances of military intervention. PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said that he would not forgive Pervez Musharraf for the damage he did to the economy and integrity of Pakistan. He does not seem to have learnt any lesson from his past blunders of being at loggerheads with two presidents, with one chief justice of Pakistan and with at least two chiefs of the army staff. He fails to understand when the state apparatus falls a victim to personal whims and self-aggrandizement and people suffer from unemployment, inflation and abysmal state of law and order, rulers fails to deliver, they become irrelevant to the people. Our much publicised Judiciary has failed to deliver and it cannot sustain itself on media coverage and loud remarks. They are fast becoming irrelevant to the masses.
Very well said, Saleem. Really, Care Taker PM must be held for all the killings since he became PM. So hello courts, open another case.
In the news for all the wrong reasons. Nothing has really changed for ex-dictator turned wanna-be-savior.
What a home-coming reception party you have been enjoying, Mian Musharraf :)
We have so many political leaders who passed away during last few weeks. I am sure Supreme Kourt Of Pakistan would hold the care taker PM , information minister and interior minister responsible.
