KARACHI:

Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) leader Pir Pagara and Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, who heads the newly created Peoples Muslim League (PML), have struck a deal regarding seat adjustment in Tharparkar, Badin, Umerkot and Mirpurkhas.

The leaders met Friday and vowed to support each other’s candidates against those of Pakistan Peoples Party.

Pir Pagara will support Dr Rahim’s candidates in the constituencies of Mithi, Diplo and Umerkot. To reciprocate, PML would extend its support to PML-F candidates in Badin and Mirpurkhas. Sources privy to the development told The Express Tribune that the PML-F leader also asked Dr Rahim to withdraw his candidate for NA-229 in the favour of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi who is vying the same seat. But the matter has yet to be decided.

Speaking to media after the two-hour-long meeting at Raja House, Dr Rahim said details will be shared with the media in a couple of days.
