Reserved seats: ECP issues final list of candidates in K-P

PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) chapter of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday issued the final list of candidates vying for reserved seats.

A total of 196 candidates passed ECP’s scrutiny. These include 127 candidates for the K-P Assembly, 25 for seats reserved for minorities and 44 for the National Assembly.

The candidates for seats reserved for women are:

For the National Assembly seats reserved for women, Asma Alamgir, Shazia Aurangzeb Khan, Nilofar Babar, Faiza Bibi Rashid, Syeda Yasmeen Safdar, Mariam Jawaid Gandapur, Naseem Akhtar and Farhat Gohar were approved.

For the seats reserved for women in the K-P Assembly, Nighat Orakzai, Shahzia Tehmas Khan, Arfana Jalal, Ashbar Jan, Mehar Sultana, Naseem Akhtar, Nargis Gul, Falak Naz, Sajida Tabasum, Asmat Ara, Salma Hamayun, Sanjida Yousaf, Noor Saher and Syeda Fozia Batool were approved.

For seats reserved for women in the National Assembly, the nominations of Bushra Gohar, Mukhtiar Begum, Jamila, Zubaida Ihsan and Musarrat Shafi were accepted.

For seats reserved for women in the provincial assembly, Yasmin Pir Muhammad Khan, Sitara Ayaz, Yasmeen Zia, Shahida, Najma Arif, Palwasha, Perveen Gul, Nabeela Rehman, Khadija Bibi, Tabassum Shams, Shabana Saifullah,Munawar Sultana, Yasmin Nazly Jaseem, Quratulain Alam, Jamila Wisal, Tasleem Begum, Tasleem Begum and Momina Begum’s papers were accepted.

The nomination papers of Amna Sardar, Ruqia Hina, Sobia Shahid, Ishrat Khatoon, Asma Zareen, Shah Ezat, Nasreen Khattak, Shahnaz Daulat Khan, Raheela Sohail, Najma Nosherwan Gujjar, Shahab Rahman, Faiza Malik, Jameela Piracha, Kaisoom Begum and Abida were accepted.

Shahida Akhtar Ali, Naeem Akhtar, Sayyeda Farhana Khalid Banoori, Sitara Afrin, Aisha Saeed, Naeema Akhtar, Uzma Khan, Najma Shaheen, Romana Jalil, Tajalla, Saima Gul, Khalid, Shazia, Zakira Ayaz, Nusrat, Taqraz Anjum, Najma Naseer, Shazia, Asmat Ara Ahad, Rehana Firdos and Deeba Ara’s papers were accepted.

Candidates Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli, Meraj Hamayon Khan, Hamida, Nargis Samin, Seeme Sabah Riaz, Naeema Shaheen, Rubina Khan, Rubina Khan, Rehana Noor Jan and Noreen Khan were approved.

For the seats reserved for women in the national assembly, Dr Samia Raheel Qazi, Balqees Begum, Aftab Shabbir, Tayeeba, Inayat Begum and Humaira Tayyaba’s papers were approved.

Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, Mussarat, Sajida Begum, Aisha Gullalai, Dr Rubina Farid, Razia Khattak, Asmat Ara Khattak, Tayyaba and Shazia Ijaz were approved.

The list of candidates approved for the seats reserved for minorities include:

Soran Singh, Baldiv Kumar and Ravi Kumar for PTI; Naseeb Chand, Pervindar Kumar, Babar and Jesvent Dass for PPP; Shakeel Chander, Nighat Bibi, Farid Chand and Younis Pervez Gill for PML-N; Gulshan Yousaf and Dr Jatindar Singh for ANP; and Goor Saran Lal, Felex Innocent and Asker Pervaiz for JUI-F.
