Countdown: ET Rawalpindi to hear appeals of candidates today

Ayaz Amir, eight other candidates have been summoned.

Amir’s nomination papers for NA-60 Chakwal were rejected on the grounds that some of his columns went against Pakistan’s ideology.

RAWALPINDI: The Election Tribunal (ET) for Rawalpindi Division will take up appeals of eight candidates whose nomination papers were rejected by their respective returning officers on Wednesday.

The ET, comprising Justice Rauf Sheikh and Justice Mamoon Rashid, will hear appeals of Ayaz Amir of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz from NA-60, Nasrullah Khan Jaral of the All Pakistan Muslim League from PP-11, Shavez Khan from PP-5, Tariq Murtaza from PP-2, Waqas Mehmood from PP-8, Muhammad Hanif from NA-55, Shaukat Aziz Bhatti from PP-4 and Beenish Sikandar of the Awami National Party on a reserved seat from Quetta.



The election tribunal has issued notices to the respondents to appear in person.

Ayaz Amir’s nomination papers from NA-60 Chakwal were rejected on the grounds that some of his write-ups went against the ideology of Pakistan.



Nomination papers of Shaukat Aziz Bhatti were rejected on basis of fake educational documents.
