Dangerous buildings: SBCA orders evacuation

Sindh Building Control Authority's technical committee declares six buildings in Saddar dangerous and unstable.

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has declared six buildings in Saddar dangerous and unstable, on the basis of a survey conducted by its technical committee.


The survey, headed by director buildings, Aashkar Dawar and comprising several construction experts, concluded that the buildings were unfit to inhabit people and have asked the owners and inhabitants to vacate the premises immediately as they may collapse.

The buildings deemed unfit by the survey include a five-storey structure at plot no. 11-G.K-6 Ghulam Hussain Quarters, a ground-plus-two storey building at plot no. 19-G.K-7. Another ground-plus-four storey building in Saddar has been declared to be in need of immediate repair by the survey.
