Yawar Saeed denies reports of resignation

Pakistan cricket team manager, Yawar Saeed has denied reports of resignation from his post as manager on Tuesday.

Earlier reports had stated that Saeed has submitted his resignation to PCB chairman Ijaz Butt.

The report of the resignation has come in the wake of match-fixing allegations that have rocked the cricketing world this month.

The scandal has led to the suspension of star cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir. Scotland Yard is conducting an investigation into the allegations that say that the three cricketers were involved in spot-fixing during the series that is being played against England this month.

According to a Hindustan Times report from last month, Saeed said that he wants to step down from his position after the current tour has ended, as he is looking to do something new after serving the national team for 26 years.

According to a 2009 cricinfo report, Saeed said that he would resign as manager after the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa, and was replaced by Abdul Raqueeb for about three months after which he went back to being manager.

The final One Day International (ODI) match in the Pak-England series will be held on Wednesday (tomorrow), and will decide the winner of the ODI series, as England and Pakistan have each won two matches each.
