Inflation: Index up 0.51% during week

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended March 7 registered an increase of 0.51% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 186.36 points against 185.42 points registered in the previous week, according provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for combined groups was up 0.4%; up from 190.69 points in the previous week to 191.46 points this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 6.12%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: six items registered a decrease, 18 items increased and the remaining 29 items’ prices remained unchanged.
