Home safety: Child injured in UPS battery accident

The child’s father said that the boy was playing near the battery when it exploded.

A two-year-old was injured on Thursday when a battery attached to a UPS exploded at his home.

The child’s father, Malik Asher Iqbal said that the boy was playing near the battery when it exploded. He said it suddenly blew up spraying acid and hot water on the boy, burning his eyes, face and hands. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors treating him said that one of the boy’s eyes was affected. They said he would need a surgery.
