ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Friday called for joint partnerships for enhanced oil and gas exploration and drilling to add more energy into the system. He stressed to make fuel refining processes efficient to cater the growing demand in the country. Chairing the meeting on issues pertaining to petroleum, Ashraf said that challenges should be turned into opportunities in order to accelerate the exploration efforts.  At the meeting, the premier was briefed on the current projects of the Oil and Gas Development Company. The prime minister was apprised that in compliance with his earlier directions, fuel supply to the power sector had been enhanced to 15,000 tons. Ashraf directed the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources to build fuel stocks through storage of surplus oil to ensure adequate supply of electricity during the ensuing months. He directed that regular supply of oil to the power sector be ensured and arbitrary variations in the oil supply be avoided.
