Accident: House gutted in fire

Unable to control the fire, the residents ran out of the house.

A two-room house was destroyed in a fire in a village near Shinkiari, Mansehra, police said.


The inmates was not hurt in the incident. Ahmed Nawaz Khan, a resident of Keri Nawazabad village, told the police that the fire was caused when one of his daughters put kerosene oil on burning wood in an earthen stove.

The resulting high flames set the wooden roof above it on fire. The fire quickly spread across the room, setting a sofa-bed on fire.

Unable to control the fire, the residents ran out of the house.

Nearby villagers tried to put out the fire, but in vain, Khan said, estimating the loss at hundreds of thousands of rupees.
