Defence of Human Rights and Public Services Trust President Amna Masood Janjua said on Saturday trust members would continue to render sacrifices for the cause.
She said there was no way the families could forget their missing members.
She was addressing the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) members at Aiwan-i-Adl. She said it was unfortunate that the missing persons issue had not been resolved even after the end of dictatorship and restoration of democracy. She said it hurt to see mothers and sisters of missing people were sitting on roads to highlight the absence of their kin while the government took no effective step to recover the missing persons.
She said the Supreme Court of Pakistan had taken notice of the issue, but other urgent matters had been forced on the chief justice to delay the missing persons case.
She requested the LBA members to establish organisations to fight such cases so that the poor could get justice. She said she had been fighting the case of people who could not afford legal fees.
