MANDI BAHAUDDIN:

Two groups of eunuchs celebrated at the district and sessions court premises on Tuesday after the verdict in a vicinity-classification case, suitable to both parties.

The eunuchs danced to the beat of drums and sang songs. Nazar Mohammad and Haji Ikram, residents of Faizabad, had filed a petition against Meera group at Mehmoodul Hassan’s court seeking identification of the area boundary for both the groups to avoid clashes.

They had alleged that the respondent eunuch group harassed them and their colleagues, forcing them to leave the area. They said the rival group did not let them attend weddings, visit houses or stand at traffic signals in the area because “it was not their area”.

The judge had asked the respondents to present documents in support of their claim, which they had failed to produce. The judge then marked areas for the two groups.
