LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Anjum Raza, on Tuesday, again summoned the police record for December 14 for the post-arrest bail hearing of two accused of selling the cough syrup Tyno, which resulted in the deaths of 19 people in Shahdara Town.

A police official appeared before the court but did not produce the record. The judge directed the Investigation Officer to produce the record by December 14. Petitioner Fida Hussain, the owner of Bismillah Medical Store, and Abdur Rauf, a distributor, filed for post-arrest bails contending that they were innocent. They said that they were not responsible for the manufacture of the syrup and thus could not be blamed for the deaths.
