DI KHAN: Several commercial banks had out-of-order automatic teller machines (ATMs) in DI Khan, causing problems for locals in the area wanting to withdraw cash from their accounts. “I have checked four ATMs and not a single one could give me cash from my account,” said Zubair Khan who works for an NGO based in DI Khan. He said that this problem had been going on for a while and if by chance an ATM was working there was usually a long line outside. The State Bank of Pakistan has set up a Consumer Facility Centre after it received many complaints from customers. This centre aims to ensure the ATMs work properly accross the district. The Consumer Facility Centre will also remain open on Eidul Azha and the consumers can also contact the State Bank of Pakistan’s DI Khan Assistant Chief Manager, Pir Azam Khan if they have further complaints.
