KARACHI:
A five-member committee has been constituted to develop an electronic system for the disbursement of pensions through e-banking.
The committee comprising National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Chairman‚ Secretary Finance‚ Auditor General of Pakistan‚ Governor State Bank of Pakistan and Secretary Postal services‚ was formed during a briefing held in Islamabad led by President Asif Ali Zardari.
Under the system‚ NADRA will complete enrolment and issuance of smart national identity cards (NIC) to pensioners of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) by 31st December this year and the disbursements of pensions will start from January next year. The enrollment process for other pensioners will be completed by 30th April next year.
