Agriculture: Technology key to increasing yields

ISLAMABAD: Speakers at a national conference on Friday stressed the need for adopting latest technologies to improve agriculture practices and boost crop yield in the country. The National conference on ‘Agriculture and Role of Space Technologies’ was organised by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) at the Institute of Peace Technology (IST) in Rawalpindi. Speaking on the occasion, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of National Food Security, Natasha Daultana lauded Suparco’s efforts in issuing a monthly, web-based crop forecasting model which provides reliable crop statistics on a regular basis.
