Eventual reparation: Cheques distributed to blast victims

Families of those killed in the blast were given Rs300,000 each, while Rs100,000 was given to people injured by blast

JAMRUD: Jamrud Assistant Political Agent (APA) Bakhtiar Mohmand distributed cheques on Friday to victims of the Ghundai al Madina Mosque blast that occurred last year. The APA said that the cheques had been distributed on the directives of the political agent of Khyber Agency to show solidarity with the victim’s families on the eve of Eidul Fitr. Families of those killed in the blast were given Rs300,000 each, while Rs100,000 was given to 17 people injured by the blast. He added that tight security measures had been put in place for Eid and the number of security personnel on all entry and exit routes of Jamrud had been increased. On August 19, 2011, a suicide bomber detonated his jacket after Friday prayers, killing more than two dozen people and injuring many more.
