KANDAHAR: The Taliban have expressed delight over the reopening of Nato supply route to Afghanistan which was blocked after a US airstrike on a Pakistani check post which killed 24 soldiers, Associated Press (AP) reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, Taliban insurgents have illegally received millions of dollars from security firms in Afghanistan for not attacking the trucks carrying supplies to the forces fighting in the war-torn country.

“Stopping these supplies caused us real trouble,” a Taliban commander who leads about 60 insurgents in eastern Ghazni province said.

“Earnings dropped down pretty badly. Therefore the rebellion was not as strong as we had planned.”

Another Taliban commander said: “We are able to make money in bundles, therefore the Nato supply is very important for us.”

Pakistan reopened the Nato supply routes after US secretary of state Hilary Clinton offered an apology for the cross border attacks.

Pakistan and the US also signed a new agreement today replacing the existing Memorandum of Understanding in place since 2004. The new deal is part of an overall review Pakistan had sought in its ties with the US.

As per this deal, Pakistan will not allow transportation of arms and ammunition, as demanded by the parliament in its foreign policy recommendations.

Goes to show the difference between Afghan and Pakistani (wannabe) Taliban. Pakistani Taliban said they’ll attack Pakistan for opening the supplies, Afghan Taliban say they are happy the supplies are open.

Taliban are perfect example of the mentality of Pakistanis and Afghans they are the one of the most corrupt countries of the world and still claim to be the best human beings and best Muslims and they always find ways and means and Rationales to validate corruption as well.

The real problems will start when US/NATO people leave. These people will start kidnappings or go to Burma.

No single convoy of Nato can pass through Afghanistan without the will of so called Taliban…

Taliban take ransom of each & single convoy passing through tribal areas of Pakistan & Afghanistan….

Taliban is a myth, in fact they are different groups backed by different countries, but they all use “Taliban” name to get better price…

“The U.S. military estimates that theft, bribery and mismanagement put $360 million in the hands of the Taliban, regional war lords and criminals in 2010 alone — with more than half that amount pinched from convoys along the supply routes.

Citing evidence “rang[ing] from sobering to shocking,” a 2010 House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform report titled Warlord, Inc illustrated the extent of extortion and corruption along the Afghanistan supply routes and called for increased efforts to cut losses. Efforts to protect supply routes and diminish the influence of local power brokers have gained little traction and convoys remain a target for attack and theft.”

Taliban are serious threat for US’ and NATO’s forces in Afghanistan till now.Why US’ and NATO’s officials don’t do any agreement with Taliban and leave Afghanistan as soon as possible instead of 2014 and why US’ and NATO’s forces’ availability in Afghanistan has been the most severe threat for Pakistan’s and Afghanistan’s internal and external security in the future?????

Taliban, both Afghani and Pakistani, are neither saints nor waliullahs, neither are they even good muslims. They are actually mercenaries and are fighting this war for cash and not for the liberation of Afghanistan from the Americans.Believe me this so called war will come to an end the day the Americans pull out unless Pakistan or someother regional country want it to continue.
