ISLAMABAD: Former housing minister Faisal Saleh Hayat continues to use 12 of the 18 government vehicles which were in his personal use when he was a minister, reported Express News on Tuesday.
According to sources, Hayat had returned six cars which were being used by his staff, but is still using the rest.
The Housing and Works Ministry has sent a notice to the former minister to return the cars, but to no effect.
Last month, the accountability body of the Parliament had constituted a committee in typical bureaucratic form to review the policy regarding monetisation of benefits given to officials for maintaining government cars.
Hayat lost his ministry when former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani was disqualified from his post and the cabinet was dissolved earlier this year. He refused to be a part of the new cabinet when Raja Pervaiz Ashraf took oath as the new prime minister.
He refused to take any ministry as he had been a major critic of the rental power plants (RPPs), a case in which Ashraf was one of the major accused.
Hayat had requested the Supreme Court to probe corruption in RPPs, implicating Ashraf. He also alleged on television that a major chunk of kickbacks in RPPs went to President Asif Ali Zardari.

This is a difficult decision for Faisal Hayat whether to join Raja Rental or not.
We are sure sanity will prevail and he is not greedy like PML-Q, whose comment on PPP Govt was “Lutto tay Phutto“.
It is a matter of great shame for the people like S. M. Zafar, Waseem Sajjad, Mushahid Hussain… they are also losing their credibility very fast.Recommend

Poor homeless man, he is breaking my heart. Faisal and Arsalan are the two most honest people in Pakistan and he should get to keep the dozens of cars that he uses. However, his opposite numbers in PPP must be tried for corruption. Faisal cannot be called corrupt as he has left the PPP for the Dictator Mush and cleansed himself. He would be even cleaner once he joins another rightwing party PML-N or PTI.

The true fruits of Democracy :) or so called “PPP” Democracy. Looters and Losers. @Mirza, if PML N is right wing party than what is PPP ? Is that the new ploy / buzz word form PPP. I am curious, what is your stance on PPP ? Isnt it the most corrupt party run by feudal lords. A party where 19 year old son is the chairperson with out any democratic process beats the drum of democracy only to loot.
PML N / PTI and all others have their flaws but there is no party that is more corrupt and power hungry than PPP. That is my opinion, prove me wrong.

@Mirza: Mr Mirza the Leftwing Party’s leader Bhutto used to tell the people that he is a leader of Islamic world and he made amendments to make Ahmedis Kaafirs and because of this hundreds of Ahmedis were killed in riots in his regime. So infact PPP is the perfect example of Pure Right Wing Party which gave Pakistan a new constitution which is based on Hatred and includes Exclusion and inclusion of some parties based on religion. So in my view PPP is far right party and nothing else as they use religion whenever they can for Political Gains.

Sir what you think or I personally think means nothing. It is the people of the country and the plurality which would decide what is good for them. The elections are the best judgment and the people are the judges. Let us wait and see what the rural heartland of the country decides. For me PPP is not as rightwing as the other parties that is why only the PPP leaders are targeted by the rightwing extremists, the latest being BB, Taseer and Bhatti to name a few. In a democracy one has to choose the bad among worse and I surrender to the will of the electorate instead of calling them names.

@Mirza, I am sure rural heartland will elect / select their feudal lords. Question is will PPP cry foul when they will be wiped out of three provinces ? Their democracy values will be tested soon and I am sure they will fail again. PPP drama on democracy has braught darkness but nothing else.
Death of BB, thought about who is the sole beneficiary of her death ? Here is my prediction, PPP wins less than 5 seats in KP, Punjab and Balochistan combined. They will win in Sindh as those Haris have to vote for their Makhdoom

@ chaudhry The whole world considers Bhtoo a martaye including the judges that passwd the sentence and the case is not concluded as appeal to declare his sentence unlawful is pending In Chaudhry court That was not a sentence but a deliberate murder.

I swear to Allah and say this statement for Faisal Saleh Hayat:
He is the most corrupt leader and cunning from our district Jhang. He not only uses all these vehicles for his personal use but also Petrol & maintenance is provided by the corrupt line of PWD department. He has blocked promotions of honest officers for want of bribe. His minimum bribe amount is Rs 1 crore that he gets through his reliable staff.
One of the examples is Hafiz Muhamad Ramzan, who was made Chief Engineer Balochistan and was sitting in Multan as SE. He was caught red handed while getting bribe and was in Jail in Multan. Faisal has posted this HONEST person again as Chief Engineer Lahore recently. He is getting monthly through the people like Ramzan from Pak PWD. Who shall save Pakistan from the worst and evil genius people like Faisal. These are the people responsible for bringing the country to this worst state. May Allah make justice (Ameen!).
