Power protests: Police register case against rioters

Police registered a criminal case against unknown people for rioting during the Saturday’s power protests.

RAWALPINDI: The Pirwadhai Police on Sunday registered a criminal case against unknown people for rioting during the Saturday’s power protests. Some 70 protesters went on a rampage in Pirwadhai, damaging a gas filling station and smashing the vehicles parked on the roadside. They were protesting against prolonged power outages. The men have been booked for wrongful constraints for public movement, mischief causing damage to private property, mischief causing damage to private vehicles and rioting by unlawful assembly.
