A special corps commanders’ conference, chaired by the army chief, was held on Thursday at General Headquarters to review the flood situation in the country and the ongoing relief and rescue activities by the army. The army chief expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and the damages caused to private property and public infrastructure by the unprecedented floods.
He directed the formations to continue reaching out to the marooned people and emphasised that the dearth of resources must be overcome through personal sacrifices and smart management. He appreciated the assiduous efforts of all field formations and the army aviation in particular. He stated that the army will continue to work round the clock at full capacity to assist the civil administration and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in providing relief to the victims. He expressed his full faith and commitment to a joint national effort, through which Pakistan will successfully surmount this challenge.
