Target killings: 5 killed, 1 injured in Karachi

KARACHI: Five people were killed and a senior civil judge was severely injured amidst incidents of firing and violence in Karachi, on Wednesday, Express News reported.

On Wednesday morning, enroute to the City Court at Gulberg Block 17, Senior Civil Judge Syed Zaheer Ahmad Naqvi was severely injured when unidentified motorcyclists open fired on his car. He was shifted to Agha Khan Hospital.

In a separate incident at Aslam Shaheed Chowk in Orangi Town Number 10 district of Mominabad, unidentified people on motorcycles open fired, killing two people. The deceased, who were residents of Ancholi, were identified as Syed Agha Razamehdi and Ahmad Raza. The bodies of these two men were found near Lyari in Timber Market at Bawa Put, with their hands and feet bound.

Resistance during a robbery resulted in gun shots being fired, and the death of one man, in Hazara Colony, close to the Kalapul area of Defence. This person was identified as Abdul Ghafar.

Newspapers sometimes carry full names just to inflame passions. How sick is that! It allows for more comments and sells more paper - and creates more hatred among Pakistanis.
