The information was given to the Crisis Management Cell by confidential sources. According to the information available, the Punjabi Taliban will pick up important people and foreigners in the first phase of the attacks.
Sources said that the Punjabi Taliban were planning these attacks in order to get arrested members released.
It was also indicated in the letter that the Punjabi Taliban’s mastermind, Aslam, along with his accomplices had reached Karachi to carry out the attacks, while a militant named, Faragh was said to have been present in the city already.

If you are talking about Pervez Musharraf and him being the "best" President in the country, please know that the current situation in Balochistan all started because of him. He killed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. He disrespected courts. He is responsible for the attack on Laal Masjid and the killings of male and female students. His policies resulted in Pakistan getting sucked into terrorism. Pakistan suffered from hundreds of bomb attacks and terror attacks. And thanks to him, we have corrupt leaders like Zardari and Rehman Malik looting Pakistan. It was during his rule that target killings started in Karachi and Balochistan. And worst of all, it is because of his policies that the Baloch youth have formed numerous separatist militant groups.
We were poorer but better off without him and the hatred he sowed.
Mr. Zamir - your response speaks volumes of your arrogance over petty development which hardly meets international standards. Both yourself and Mohajirgar are not aware of the issue nor the facts of the report that this news item is on.. better focus on that than telling each other who is BIG and who is SMALL despite being part of ONE Country..!

Is it not a fact that the term Panjabi Taleban found currency a few years back? There seem to be several groups which want to be called Taleban or others want to distinguish different groups.
Afghan Taleban were distinguished from Taleban who were of foreign origin i.e. non-Pakistani or Afghani. Besides Good Taleban there are Bad Taleban as well. IK supports or is supported by a particular group and BB had once very proudly announced that Taleban were her creation. The US negotiates with "good" ones and kills "bad" ones..
Several explosions in Lahore in recent years were supposed to be the handiwork of Panjabi Taleban. Usage of the term Panjabi Taleban for a certain group of political actors is not new, even if it were a misnomer .
@Zamir Malik: Punjab was the province that opposed the creation of Pakistan. You are just angry because the best President of Pakistan was a Mahajir and not a Punjabi.
My Uncle was well settled in Balochistan. He tells me how everything is blamed on Punjabis. He was out to buy food one day and at the local hotel they were discussing about the weather forecast. It was dry and hot and so my Uncle said that it would be good if there was some rain. At that time, an old Baloch man yelled at him and said "It will rain in Balochistan when all the Punjabis leave Balochistan." At school nobody would sit with his 9 year old daughter because they knew she was Punjabi. Everything was good but the moment you told someone you were from Punjab, they started hating you. And this was in 2000 - way before the insurgency in Balochistan started.
In Pakistan blaming anything and everything on Punjabis is a well established trend. Anything goes wrong and you bet, we Punjabis had something to do with it. In Balochistan, for instance it is common to compare Punjab cities with European cities which is completely absurd. The Punjab I live in is a place where on rickshaws, many drivers have advertised that they are willing to sell one of their kidneys. It is a place where I have seen little kids at the Sabzi Mandi pick up rotten vegetables from the garbage. For all those complaining about Punjab, you are more than welcome to come to Punjab to visit and see for yourself. And unlike other places in Pakistan, 'NO,' we will not kill you simply because of who you are.
@Mujtaba good to know that someone with brains and common sense is still out there. not many of us out there nowadays who would think like this... the fact that we are Pakistanis first ... but majority of people in Pakistan always identifies themselves with their ethnic background rather national background. Sad!

I can understand why The word Punjabi is specifically used here and why no one ever used the word Pakhtoon Taliban or Taliban of other ethnicity. Obviously everyone is doing their best now a days in Pakistan to portray one ethnicity as evil and it is a part of that campaign!!!!!
