QUETTA:

Nawabzada Jamil Bugti, a son of slain Baloch sardar Nawab Akbar Bugti, has demanded an impartial probe into the recent discovery of a mass grave in Dera Bugti.

A pit has been unearthed containing the bullet-riddled remains of a number of people who were buried unceremoniously, Bugti told a news conference on Saturday.

He accused the security forces of killing scores of Baloch people in Dera Bugti and dumping their bodies in mass graves without burial rites.

“Human rights groups should be allowed access to the restive Dera Bugti area to probe the recently discovered mass grave,” he told the media.

“The federal and provincial governments are shielding the murderers of Nawab Akbar Bugti. The establishment does not acknowledge the supremacy of the judiciary. Where can we expect justice?” he asked.

Referring to the recent arrest of three Bugti tribesmen in the Lyari operation, Jamil Bugti said these men were whisked away by the Frontier Corps in January and were missing since then.

“The forces handed over these men to Karachi police who declared them terrorists and members of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA),” he said. Denouncing the Lyari operation, he said that the Baloch people were victims of aggression and violence since 1947.

Justice is not Slave of one individual, party, group or province. Word “JUSTICE” is NO where to find in our beloved country from at least last quarter of century. So we all should pray for that very day when Justice for All will come to this land.

Whats the proof that the buried people were shot by security forces ? I would equally suspect the Baloch leaders from using these unsettled and turbulent times to settle personal scores and blame someone else. Who in their right minds thinks that Baloch sardar’s personal armies are for fighting for rights of Baloch people ?

It is quite possible these graves were done by the Bugtis themselves. After all they do not have a reputation of shareef log, not just of name but real goodness. It is convenient to blame the government. OK tell us what have you done with the money we have given you for 63 years? Have you spent of the people of Baluchistan or your own self. How come you so much of unaccounted tax unpaid momey stashed away every where? The week governments have let you not only live but thrive. Recommend

These mass graves of Baloch Pakistanis takes me back to 1971- when there were mass graves of Bengali Pakistanis.

Will our myopic generals never learn that killing Pakistanis will only lead to another disaster, one that this country might never recover from.

It is time the Supreme Court focused on the never-ending military campaigns in Balochistan and decide once for all whether Balochistan is truly a province of Pakistan or merely a colony where the military has a free hand to unleash its concocted ‘national ideology’ and selective ‘patriotism’.

The main suspect is inter-baloch rivalry. There are many baloch group fighting each other for dominance and gains. It is too early to raise finger on security forces.

It should be investigated, indeed. No side in Balochistan is purely good. Everybody knows Pak Army’s reputation when they capture enemies. It is barbaric. Many examples – Bangladesh, Swat Valley, Kharotabad incident and numerous others.
BUT the Sardars aren’t good either. I know a Baloch sister. She is a member of the Bugti tribe but she had such contempt for the Bugti tribal Sardars. Allah knows best but she said a prominent Bugti Sardar (I won’t name him) once came to her Aunt’s house and demanded she marry the Sardar’s nephew. When she refused, he ordered his men to shave her head and beat her and promised a lot more. Her entire family moved out of Balochistan to D.G Khan in Punjab.
There are good people and bad people everywhere so rather than taking sides we should promote and stand up for justice.
Personally, I think Pakistan’s problems will never come to an end unless and until the common man is empowered and the poor Baloch man is an example of this. In the fight for power and influence between the Sardars and their militias and the Army, it is the poor voiceless Baloch man who suffers…..

BLA must also be responsible for mass graves of Bengalis before surrender! BLA must also be the host of OBL in the largest military base in the country. BLA has handed Shamsi Air Base to the Americans also.

Balochistan is not the home land for Balochis only, there are Pashtoons and Sindhis as well who are residing there from 1000s years. So if few balochis say that they want there separate homeland, that doesnt make any sense as they are not representing the whole Balochistan. Most of the people of Balochistan are pro Pakistan. Only a few are fighting against the state of Pakistan which are being supported by foriegn hands.
