HARIPUR:

Five women swindlers were caught red-handed while attempting to steal gold bangles from a passenger on Thursday. The Khalabat Township police said that Sajida Bibi and her cousin, Naushaba, were travelling to Kalas village in a passenger van when a woman faked having nausea.

In the meantime, four other women managed to cut six gold bangles from Sajida’s arm. However, before they could escape, Sajida found out that she had lost her jewellery and upon her hue and cry, the passengers took hold of swindlers and handed them over to the police. They were identified as Nadia, Sidra, Rukhshar Bibi, Tahira and Sonia. They were presented before the court of a magistrate and sent to jail on judicial remand.
