Empowerment: Women’s right to inheritance stressed

More than 65% of women are working in the agriculture sector, but less than 1% own land.

ISLAMABAD: Women rights activists called for ensuring women’s right to property and inheritance to reduce their dependence on male heads.“Women’s share in inheritance is denied, though it has been clearly sanctioned in our religion,” Women Organization of Rights and Development (WORD) Executive Director Aqsa Khan said while talking to APP. More than 65 per cent of women are working in the agriculture sector, but less than one per cent own land, she lamented.
