MOHMAND: Three minors, Khayal Adam, Sartaj and Rehmat Ali were injured in the Ziarat area of Mohmand Agency as a marble loader machine crashed into a ravine, according to sources.
The injured were taken to The Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. “There are no social security benefits or health facilities for workers of the area,” complained contractor Sanaullah, while talking to The Express Tribune.
Around 15-20 workers die each year in mining accidents, according to Sanaullah. “The people of the area demand that authorities should ensure first aid facilities to workers at accident sites,” he added.
