SUKKUR:

Three children were burnt alive on Saturday while two women were partially burnt when a fire broke out in Sher Bahadur Wazirani village near Buxapur, in Kashmore district.

Sparks from a fireplace in a hut caused the fire to erupt in one of the huts of Golato community. Pretty soon it engulfed dozens of other huts nearby as well and more than 20 burnt down as a result. Fire tenders rushed to the village but could not control the fire because the winds were too strong. Later on, fire brigades from Jacobabad and Shikarpur districts were also summoned for back up and managed to bring the blaze under control after three hours.

Three children, two-year-old Naseer, three-year-old Shumaila, and four-year-old Jameel burnt alive, while two women, Subhana Khatoon and Sajjan Khatoon, ended up with critical burn wounds.
