ISLAMABAD:

Women’s narrative and their voices are missing in the peacebuilding process in Kashmir, Shaheen Akhtar, senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), said on Friday.

She was the key speaker at a discussion organised by IRS on “The Role of AJK Women in Peacebuilding in Kashmir,” said a press release.

“The capacity of women in peacebuilding can be enhanced through their socio-economic and political empowerment,” she said.

She called for political education of women parliamentarians to increase their role in gender-sensitive legislation.
