Sindh university: SHC issues notices in Channar case

The petition was filed by Aziz Ahmed Channar, son of Prof Channar.

HYDERABAD: The circuit bench of the Sindh High Court issued notices on Thursday on a petition filed against the murder of Sindh University’s Prof. (retd) Bashir Channar, who was killed in the Sindh University campus on January 2, 2012. The petition was filed by Aziz Ahmed Channar, son of Prof Channar and the court issued the notices to the respondents, including the Sindh chief secretary, Hyderabad and Larkana’s DIGs and Jamshoro and Shaheed Benazirabad’s SSPs to submit their replies on May 16.Aziz Ahmed Channar cited the report of a judicial inquiry, conducted by district and sessions judge, which names Meehal Rajjar, Bachal Narejo and Hamza Ali Chandio as suspects. Aziz requested the court to order the respondents to arrest the three men.
