Cases settled: Three released from rape and murder cases

Judge released Rasheed Ahmed, who was accused of shooting his daughter dead in a dispute over a petty issue.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain on Tuesday ordered the release of the accused in a rape case and a murder case after they reached settlements with the complainants.

The judge released Rasheed Ahmed, who was accused of shooting his daughter dead in a dispute over a petty issue. His wife Khalida Khanum was the complainant e. Muhammad Arshad and Khalid were released from the rape case. According to the FIR registered at Manga Mandi police station on Khanum’s complaint, Ahmed got into an angry exchange with his daughter Kiran on July 10, 2011. Infuriated, he allegedly shot her in the belly with a rifle and killed her. In the FIR registered at Kahna police station in the rape case, complainant Allah Rakhi said that her daughter had gone to Arshad’s shop to buy some goods on October 12, 2011, but did not return. She went looking for her daughter and some children told her that she was being held in the shop. She said when she raised the shutters of the store, she saw her.
