University status: DCET principal hopeful of approval

The chief minister will make the final decision in this regard.

KARACHI: A proposal to grant the Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET), Karachi, university status will likely be approved next month, said DCET’s acting principal Mohammad Ali Shaikh. The chief minister will make the final decision in this regard. Shaikh, who is also the vice chancellor of the Sindh Madressatul Islam University, was speaking at the college’s orientation ceremony here on Monday. If updated, DCET will become the city’s second higher education institute for engineering, after the NED University of Engineering and Technology.
