No arrests: Woman raped, burnt with cigarrettes

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Mavra, 23, (name changed) was raped by two men at her house in Chak 31-P on Wednesday. Mavra told The Express Tribune that she was alone when her neighbour, Naveed (name changed), an unidentified man friend entered the house, gagged and tied her. She said the men, repeatedly burnt her with cigarette butts. She said they also raped and beat before they fled. Her mother said that she had found the girl tied to the bed when she returned home. Doctors treating the girl at Shaikh Zayed Hospital said she was out of danger. The girl’s mother complained that police were not arresting the suspects and asked the Punjab chief minister to take notice. Saddar SHO Mohammad Younis said police were looking for the men.
