KARACHI:

The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) has been given a Rs400,000 grant by the Australian Sports Commission for a coaching programme and a tournament for female players in Bahawalpur and Lodhran from April 23.

According to PNF Secretary Mudassar Arain, the body has given the grant for the three-day coaching workshop featuring 250 players. The top 20 players will then be included in the junior team that will take part in the Asian Netball Championship to be held in Melbourne in August. “It’s a positive development,” Arain told The Express Tribune. “Australia got interested in promoting our netball after we impressed them in events in Sydney two years ago.”
