ISLAMABAD: Disillusioned with the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) failure to address grievances of the Baloch people, senior leader from Balochistan, Lashkari Raisani, resigned from party membership on Tuesday.

Raisani submitted his resignation to Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, a close associate told The Express Tribune. He also resigned from the Senate after meeting with Bokhari.

He maintained that PPP could not trace the missing persons and stop target killings in the province. “The reason for this resignation is my disillusionment with the present PPP leadership,” stated Raisani in his one-page resignation letter.

According to his close associate, Raisani was unhappy with the party leadership on its failure to address the crisis in Balochistan.

He had resigned as president of PPP Balochistan last year.

Political analysts told The Express Tribune that the government’s efforts to address the issues of the troubled province will face a serious setback after the resignation of Raisani.

The Raisani clan is trying to secure it's politican future putting their hands in both the government and opposition, if the opposition wins the family keeps power, if the government wins, it stills keeps power..
