PESHAWAR: Speakers at a workshop asked the government on Saturday to extend equal rights to Afghans residing in Pakistan. The workshop titled “Role of Media in providing Decent Work Opportunities to Afghan Refugees” was arranged by the International Labour Organisation (ILO). General Secretary of the Pakistan Labour Federation Zahoor Awan said that migrant workers are entitled to the same rights in other countries as their home country and the lack of any such status in Pakistan was resulting in Afghans working on lower wages.
