ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari appointed former chairman Senate Farooq H Naek as the new Minister for Law and Justice on Wednesday, reported Express News.

Naek took oath at the Presidency today. Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, federal ministers and senior officials were present during the ceremony.

He has replaced Maula Bux Chandio who resigned from his post during a Senate session earlier this year soon after reports emerged that that his predecessor Babar Awan could be reappointed as the law minister.

Chandio later denied tendering his resignation, however, Leader of the House Nayyer Hussain Bokhari confirmed it.
