PTI seeks details of Zardari, Manmohan meeting
PTI senior leader Dr Shireen Mazari demanded that the government take parliament into confidence by sharing the contents of the Zardari-Singh meeting and she also questioned the need for the president to visit India at this time and demanded details regarding the funding of the trip.
Shireen also expressed regret over the fact that India continued to take a hard line against Pakistan in terms of détente, the latest reflection of which was the cancellation of the Indian hockey team’s tour of Pakistan, she said.
Zardari plans to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over lunch on April 8 before making a private visit to the famous 13th century Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer.

PTI, Judiciary, and a sector of media - real oppositon. Rest is drama.
PTI is not even in parliament. Till they dont win an election they have no right to ask for details about the presidents visit. Once they get elected , unless ofcourse the boycott the elections again they should stick to canvassing for the next election.
@sheikh... i dont know what is the rationale behind your comment... but in any civilized society, it is the elected representatives who are obliged to be accountable in front of the public... i dont know about you but in Islam we have the famous example of Hazrat Umar (R.A), who was questioned by a simple arab about his deeds... so do you think zardari is above the law? all mazari wanted is that if it is private tour then we should be informed who is paying for it..and if it is official trip then we should be told who invited him? this is simple logic but off course it is above the head of the pay-per-comment jiyalas or PML(Laptop) supporters...
Hang on. We have an elected executive who is not obliged to share the details of his meetings with foreign counterparts. All those street urchins who cannot make it to that office through elections should curse their luck and let those who have been elected run the country in the best manner they see fit. And by the way, I thought ISI employees were not allowed to hold political party office.
Shireen Madari should first apologize for PTI promoting violence in Pakistan by partnering with Taliban, JuD and other Difa-e-Pakistan sectarian terrorists to grab power.
All she asked for was an answer to what concessions the President is likely to make to India.........is that not the democratic right of the people of Pakistan?
So what if we are not in parliament?? Does that make the people of Pakisan inferior to your modern day Pharohs??
Dr. Shireen Mazari may have her information only post the lunch when some reporter tries to get details of the items on the menu. The cuisine is likely to be desi though.
The good doctor would obviously know that most democracies do not conduct their foreign relationships through their parliament. Heck, in many countries, international treaties do not even need to be vetted or approved by their parliaments

Thank God she didn't I demand for live courage of that meeting . Madam if detail of such meeting is made public then leader will be their only for point scoring and no problem of world will be solve . Thank God PTI got 3 ex- foreign minster other wise God help PTI .
To seek details of the tour, PTI needs to get atleast one seat in parliament and looks impossible in future too. Amongst un-elected lot, Hafiz Saeed is now the undisputed leader.

Some people are ignorant but very selective of them are outright fools. If the subject is history they talk about Weather . Just like someone here was talking about religion or Politics while underlying questions Dr. Mazari is asking, on Behalf of the nation , that Who paid for that visit? And what is the Agenda of talk with Manmohan? Simple two questions. But people from the other side of the border have absolute miopic view Point and can not see beyond few yards. It has nothing to do With India or Ajmer or his religious duties. He can go anywhere he wants But as long as he is the President, He is obliged to brief the nation and two simple questions nation is entitled to ask him. By the way , we all know how religious he is. A person who is corrupt from head to toe and do not see any problem in looting the nation years after years , very well explains itself the compasion religion has produced in his heart. A good religious person do not rob the nation. He must answer what is the Agenda of his meeting with Manmohan. We all know he is going to lie like always but Well done Dr. Mazari who put the onus on him to give clarification.

@faraz: She's a bit of a hwk when it comes to India. unfortunately Pakistan cant be hawkish anymore and will not be in such a position for several years. Im sure she'll have a vital role to play in PTI and Inshallah the next government in years to come and wish her all the best. But you do agree that she is a bit low down in the pecking order when it coems to determining foriegn policy.

Hockey India says the tour to Pakistan is not cancelled and both the associations are looking at fresh dates to conduct the tournament

Dr. Shireen has raised some valid points. Who is paying for the trip. Now that he is having lunch with Mr Singh it suddenly becomes an official trip and by extension we the poor taxpayers will foot the bill.
And faraz you are so wrong. Dr. Shireen will always have a role in the makings of the foreign policy.Just imagine the depth PTI now has in this field.
btw. in what capacity can the PTI make demands on the parliament?

While one trusts IMRAN KHAN, people like Shireen mazari are GHQ's puppets injected to hijack PTI at right time. IK and PTI needs to be very careful of people like mazari whose links with people like PKKH (zaid hamid, ahmad qureshi industries ) are all over internet.
Just like other parties GHQ has injected their agents in PTI and these are the people who will speak ESTABLISHMENT's lingo in PTI voice.
The meeting might be an informal one so there is no need to share details. SM needs to stop working on the agenda of people at Abparah chowk.

Tradition of Ajmeer is they give Traditional Sword to leaders who visit Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer but they decide not to give it to Zardari. :)

@ Faraz: I don't know what you want to prove here but to me none of those mentioned by you are better qualified than that lady. Being foreign minister as in case of Qureshi, Asif and Kasuri doesn't make them gurus of formulating a foreign policy. Had that been the case, Dr. Rehman Malik HI would've been the best interior minister, Aashiq Awan the information minister. I hope she has a role, a big one to play there.
I respect Shiren. But I cannot say the sane thing about IK avd the rest of the PTI team.

It seems like India has an upper hand in the bilateral ties. In spite of the fact that they have cancelled the scheduled trip of the hockey team as they want to isolate Pakistan on the international arena, our president is very keen on visiting the India. Disgusting !
One thing good about inclusion of Shah Mehmood, Mehmood Kasuri and Sardar Asif in PTI is that Shireen Mazari will have no role in foreign policy.
