Imran's call for change followed by 'pillow fight'

Published: March 20, 2012

BAHAWALNAGAR: Soon after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan finished talking about looted money and the role of intelligence agencies, the PTI followers started a “pillow fight”. The fun soon led to a serious brawl with some youngsters slapping and punching each other.

Prior to the pillow fight, PTI Chairman accused Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani of committing contempt of court just to protect someone who had looted people’s money.

Addressing a gathering in Bahawalnagar on Tuesday , Imran appealed to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to bring the “looted money” back to Pakistan from Swiss banks.

“The people of Pakistan are there to support you [Chief Justice],” Imran added.

Commenting on the role of intelligence agencies, Imran said these institutions should have no role in Pakistan’s politics.

Reiterating his call for change, the PTI Chairman stated that change of system is required and not just the change of faces.

“After coming to power, we [PTI] will bring a better local government system,” Imran said.

Adding to this point, PTI’s Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that PTI will provide justice to everyone “at their doorstep”.

I hope this also tells the readers about the state of our people. How illiteracy is deep rooted. It would be very easy to target PTI even for the behavior of these poor people (like stealing food chairs) but it is a moment to think for all us what is the misery of people in these areas, and what could follow if we dont change the course of this country in the next elections.

@American-owned “liberal” newspapers with an agenda:
I see plenty of articles taking shots at other parties. Just because PTI hasn’t done anything positive that was news worthy since their rallies it doesn’t mean the media is at fault. That’s another thing that comes with having a party run by a really loud person who loves attention. They get that attention. If you’re doing something stupid or saying something stupid (common one for Imran Khan) while you have that attention, it gets printed.

What do you expect of Imran Khan? Is he a magician who can change this herd of uncivilized, uneducated, narrow minded people called Pakistanis just by his public meetings or by his presence?. People behaved like they would behave anywhere else in Pakistan. Is this the only thing you noticed in this Jalsa and made a headline of it?. I am sorry but this is real pathetic. It seems as if you are blaming IK for people throwing pillows. Anything that can ridicule PTI makes a headlines these days especially at this website. The guys is calling for a change that we all long for and you are happily making fun of him. If you have better ideas of brining change and have better people to suggest then come up with it. If not, please shut up and let someone else do it. If you dont have the guts to stand up to challenge this corrupt system then at least dont create hurdles for those who want to do it.
