ISLAMABAD: Husain Haqqani’s lawyer Zahid Bukhari, after much anticipation, has finally left for London to cross-question Mansoor Ijaz in the Memogate scandal, Express News reported on Tuesday.

Before departure, Bukhari told the media at the airport that the Memogate scandal was nothing but a conspiracy to destabilise the government, and nothing will come out of it.

He added that all the truth and the lies in the case will surface after the face-to-face cross-questioning of Ijaz in London.

The case was played up to prevent the senate elections from taking place, Bukhari further said and added that thousands of the nation’s money was being wasted on this international hearing of the case.

Earlier, in an email sent to The Express Tribune, Ijaz claimed that Haqqani is only making up lies in the case, and that he and his lawyer have nowhere to hide now.
