QUETTA:

In what appears to be a fresh incident of target killing, gunmen shot dead two settlers and injured five others at a bus stop in the Kech district of restive Balochistan on Wednesday, police said.

Some Punjabi-speaking people were standing at a bus stop in the Mand Bulo area, a town bordering Iran, when unknown men armed with sophisticated weapons opened fire on them, said sources in the Levies Force. Two people died on the spot while five others were injured.

The injured were ferried to a nearby state-run hospital.

“The victims hailed from Punjab and were waiting to catch a bus after returning from Iran via Mand Bulo border,” one source told The Express Tribune. “The bodies have been sent to Faisalabad for burial.” Medics said two of the injured are in a critical condition.

“It’s an incident of targeted killing and the assailants managed to escape on motorbikes,” said a government official who also confirmed the death toll.

@Hamza Balouch

Since Pakistanis are so fond of the word "False flag operation" when it comes to attacks on other countries why cannot it be the same here?
