Snooker: Asif tops national rankings

Muhammad Asif is the new Pakistan number one while Imran Shehzad has fallen to 13th.

KARACHI: Muhammad Asif is the new Pakistan number one while Imran Shehzad has fallen to 13th in the new rankings released by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA). The rankings were updated after the 37th National Snooker Championship and Asif has expectedly jumped to number one after clinching two consecutive ranking tournaments. Meanwhile, Sultan Muhammad, the losing finalist, sits in second place, a jump of eight places, and is followed by Muhammad Sajjad. Naveen Parwani is in fourth place, while Vishan Gir climbed 33 places to seventh. Those who have dropped their rankings include Mohammad Asif Toba, now placed 33rd, and Shahid Aftab who is 21st.
