BAHAWALPUR/RAHIM YAR KHAN:

An FIR each has been registered against two men in a Bahawalpur village and four men in a Rahim Yar Khan village for sexual assault of an 18-year-old and a 13-year-old, respectively, after crime was established in medical examinations on Thursday.

In Bahawalpur, Baghdad police have registered a case against Zia* and Kareem* for allegedly sexually assaulting Amina*, a resident of Chak 10BC, on Monday night. The medical examination of the girl was carried out at Bahawal Vitoria Hospital. According to the complaint filed by Khadim*, father of the victim, the girl was kidnapped by the suspects from in front of her house and taken to a location unfamiliar to her where the suspects sexually assaulted her. Khadim quoted the girl as saying that she was beaten up and assaulted at gunpoint. He said he kept looking for his daughter on Monday night. He said the girl was later dropped outside his house after dawn. She was unconscious. She recounted the incident to the family on regaining consciousness.

Baghdad police investigation officer Iqbal told The Express Tribune an FIR had been registered against the suspects.

He said while the crime had been established in medical examination the police were waiting for the report of chemical examination and reports of DNA samples to proceed further. Meanwhile, he said, a police team had been formed to arrest the suspects.

In the incident in Jalalpur village of Rahim Yar Khan, four people allegedly kidnapped Batool* from a field near her house where she was feeding the family cattle.

Three of the suspects were identified in the complaint filed with the Saddar police as Fareed, Ijaz and Ahmed.

Complainant Mohammad Din, father of the girl, quoted her as saying that the suspects took her to a field and sexually assaulted her. She said the suspects later abandoned her and fled. A medical examination carried out at a rural health centre confirmed the crime. Saddar police said they had registered an FIR and were waiting for the report of the chemical examiner.

In Multan, an 18-year-old girl was kidnapped from her house on Thursday. Four men including Wazir Ali and Iqbal allegedly abducted Asif’s daughter after beating the family and detaining them at gunpoint. A case has been registered. APP
