TTP Karachi leader and three other suspects arrested

Police have recove­red suicid­e jacket­s and ammuni­tion from their posses­sion.

KARACHI: The authorities claim to have arrested four alleged terrorists, including the chief of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Karachi chapter.

Crime Investigation Department’s AIG Shabbir Shiekh, DIG Mushtaq Mahar, SSP Fayaz Khan and SP Mazhar Mashwani made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday.

The suspects were identified as Abdul Qayyum Mehsud, Mohammad Sharif Mohmand , Habib Khan Mehsud and Usman Mehsud.

According to Shiekh, they were involved in a dozen bomb attacks, kidnappings for ransom, murders and robberies in Karachi.

The suspects were arrested in a raid on Manghopir road near Valika Hospital and Suparco Road.

The police seized weapons, suicide jackets, two missiles, two rockets, two Kalashnikovs, two 9mm pistols and two TT pistols.
