APML files petition asking for permission for Musharraf’s rally

Published: January 5, 2012

The former president has been declared an absconder in the murder case of the former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto.

KARACHI:

The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), led by former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, filed a petition in the High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Wednesday in connection with its January 8 rally. The APML is asking the court to direct the home department and other authorities to give the party permission for holding the event at the Shahrae Quaideen area.

APML secretary general Haris Nawaz filed the petition and named the Sindh home secretary and Karachi commissioner as respondents.

Nawaz said that the party applied for permission on December 22 and has not received a response. He also referred to the fact that it would be discrimination to not allow APML to hold its event, given that other political parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the Jamaat-e-Islami, were allowed to hold rallies in Karachi recently. He asked the court to direct the authorities to allow the party to hold its event at the designated place identified in its formal application.

The respondents were issued notices for January 6.

The former president has been declared an absconder in the murder case of the former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto. A trial court in Rawalpindi has issued a ‘perpetual warrant of arrest’ against him in the case.

Now all the coward so-called leaders sitting outside of my Pak land seeking support from courts for ready-made rallies.

If you believe that court will allow you to hold a political rally, then for God’s sake come back to Pakistan and clear your stance before these same courts. I’ve just one word for this so-called leader “COWARD”.

No permission should be granted. There is a great chance that Musharaf like BB could be attacked by terrorists.

Gen Mush knew full well how to deal with the PCO SC and its CJ. No wonder he still does not have any notices from the “independent” judiciary.

Starting with the slogan “Pakistan First” in October, 1999 and ending with “Pakistan ka Allah hi Hafiz” in August, 2008.

Come 2012, another new Pakistan is in the making because Pakistan is groaning in the pains of NRO.

    NRO aka Now Regret Only.

PML-N always have issues with MQM doing anything and all those who are bashing MQM here ask Hazara people they raised there voice many years ago MQM just took it to the NA and now not even MQM is supporting this PPP, PML Q, JUI are also in this so why naming only MQM.

And for the people who are saying to divide Karachi just to let them know Karachi is already divided into 18 towns by none other then MQM.

My humble request is to PML N is stop this hatred for Karachiites we are generating 70% of this country revenue and we are Pathan, Urdu speaking, Punjabi, Memon, Sindhi, Balochi, Bangali Saraiki, Hazarwal and Yes

    We are mini Pakistan!

1st of all from APML, the innocent Nation must ask do they have respect for the law and courts of Pak. If they claims yes then why Mr. Musharraf not appearing in the court to face the cases since 2007, why he did not even receives the court saman, why he did threaten and then remove the on merit CJ, why he did use the army within the boundaries and against t own people at Islamabad, why did he killed Bugti, why did he weakened Pak internally, externally, ethnically and even integrity…why did he living outside although always claiming commando, how he had accept to serve as Chief of Pak Army without merit, why did he took/taking support of political worker/Pak nationals as party maker or save passage, how he did 7 years unconstitutional government…….etc. He should face the court 1st, he is the only who decisions has been destroying Pak yet….because of limited/narrow thinking, wrong and timely decisions and so many big mistakes.

    @Nazim Khan:
Your sovereignity has been shredded 10 times more during your democratic government. He still had the guts to at least protest and carry his own; your current leaders look like hapless fools. If you dont believe me, go check his very recent interview in Council of Foreign Relations on youtube where he deftly dealt with all the questions coming his way from foreigners. You’re deluded if you think that any of your current democratic leaders can handle themselves that well.
As for why Musharraf should come back; its simple..compare his tenure with the situation now. Lets see; less power problems, less water problems, infrastructure development in Karachi & Baluchistan, stable currency, building of foreign reserves, FDI…look at the facts Sir before you go about trolling.
