Hashmi ‘sold’ himself short: Capt. Safdar

Published: December 26, 2011

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Captain (retd) Safdar has accused Javed Hashmi of having sold himself to PTI Chief Imran Khan for five million rupees.

“If he had mentioned this before, we could have collected Rs10 million for him in alms from Peshawar alone,” Safdar, who is the president of PML-N’s youth wing and the son-in-law of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, told a gathering in Danishabad, Peshawar, on Monday.

Hashmi, a long-time PML-N loyalist, defected to the PTI last week boosting that party’s line-up for the 2013 elections. Addressing the December 25 rally in Karachi, Hashmi said that he missed his old party but believed in the potential of PTI and hence joined it.

“Hashmi’s withdrawal from the party would have been a loss if he were capable of winning his seat again,” Safdar said. “PML-N workers did not shed tears at his departure but at his disloyalty.”

Countering Hashmi’s claim that PTI was the harbinger of change in Pakistan, he said that it was in fact Nawaz who had transformed Pakistan by making it into a nuclear power.

The gathering was also attended by Pir Sabir Shah, PML-N’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa president, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Fareed Toofan and other prominent members of the party.

OMG…. Hashmi served this party for long long time even been to prison. He even acknowledged and praised his X party at PTI jalsa but mean while said that “I LOVE PAK MORE”. Loyalty to nation comes first then to a party who do not even have clear vision .This statement depicts frustration in N league. When he was among your ranks he was good now these baseless allegation’s. Makes no sense at all…!!!!

Not a big deal from one rightwing party to another one. PML and PTI have the same voter bank and no difference in ideology. Both have worked closely with Islamist parties like JI. Both have the same lotas going from one to the other. “It is all in the family”. Hashmi has his daughter, and son-in-law in politics and so do Sharif. Not a big difference.

If Javed Hashmi was such a low level person as you have branded him, he should have bowed down to Musharaf dictatorship to save his life.

People want change on the ground and not just slander, abuse, personal attacks and allegations, and Imran Khan is the only leader who can be trusted to make a team of loyalist to bring that change. Mian Sahib should concentrate on grooming his son and daughter to replace him as family Pvt Ltd company.

Mian Sahib must remember that it was Makhdoom Hashmi who held his party together when Mian Sahib made that deal with President Musharraf and was enjoying Saudi hospitality. It must also remembered that Mian Sahib is the one who has sold himself to those who do not wish to see democracy function in Pakistan. Capt.
