KARACHI: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi wants to improve his batting as he prepares for the T20 Big Bash to be held in Australia. Afridi will represent Melbourne Renegades and is aiming for useful exposure in Australian conditions.

“I’m looking to play good innings,” Afridi told The Express Tribune. “I’m satisfied with my bowling but my batting needs improvement.”

The former captain, who made his international comeback in the One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, added the event will help him ahead of the series against England.

“My commitment with Big Bash is very important because it’s also an off-season for me. It will not only help me carry on the momentum but also prepare me for tough conditions.”

‘Almost impossible to match Sehwag’

Meanwhile, the hard-hitting batsman, who holds the record of the fastest hundred in ODIs, ruled himself out of the list of players capable of surpassing Virender Sehwag’s 219.

Afridi said it was ‘almost impossible’ to match the feat. “It’s a huge milestone, which will be very difficult to break. As far as I’m concerned, my batting position doesn’t allow me to do it.”
