Government forms Eighth Finance Commission

The finance minister will head the commission.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has announced formation of the Eighth Finance Commission on Wednesday. Federal Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will head the commission.

According to initial reports, four finance ministers from the provinces as well as four other members from each province will be a part of the commission in an advisory role. All decisions regarding resources and revenues of the federal government will be decided by this commission.

The Seventh National Finance Commission was responsible for the NFC award earlier this year.
